Let the bad news of the first form. There is very little about this book that justifies calling it a “Digital Edition”. A preliminary section on “Photography Essentials” provides a brief description of digital point and shoot cameras versus digital SLRs, and is a reminder to check your histogram. That’s all for TV digital.Por other hand, there are numerous references to the film in the discussion of the parks (for example, on p. 62, “fine-grained, saturated films like Velvia Fujichrome produce higher quality results …”). Not exactly what a digital shooter wants to know. It seems that the descriptions of the park may have been taken from a previous edition without changing the references to the film and the inclusion of tips for digital photographers. If that’s the case, shame on all involved for that pereza.Ahora the good news. If you’re interested in learning the best places to photograph in the 21 national parks in the moment, this is a good place to start. Even if you are trying to decide which parks to visit without photographic ambitions, excellent pictures in this book will help you decide. Or maybe – not all are attractive images Fitzharris.Cada da park 6-8 pages with pictures of various “hot spots” described and located in small maps. The author also suggests that the season is the best for a visit and the best time of day to shoot in different locations. In the case of several parks, “trips” are described elsewhere photographic region. For example, Bryce Canyon is briefly described as an excursion in the section on Zion National Park. Those who have been in Bryce arguably deserves its own section, but this book is not difficult for the inclusión.En summary, this book is very well as a guide to photo sites on the parks, but falls well short in the department digital. This book does a pretty good job of giving the photographer an idea of what to expect and where to find things in our great system of NP. His images are sometimes iconic, but very often the only point of view of visitors. One would have to leave the normal visitor centers, in order to obtain images of Tim has shared with the reader. He is good at giving an overview of what they represent parks offer the photographer and includes maps of the park and indications of where the images were taken. The photography is beautiful and well chosen for each park represented. I have the feeling that Fitzharris is trying to give the reader an idea of what is available at a visitor center next to the obvious hot spots for the landscape. This is a good thing from the perspective of a photographer and the reader a service to hacerlo.Esta review would have been 5 stars, but two obvious questions. Many of the photos are garish and improved red and yellow PS too much and the book format is only 8. 5 inches tall instead of the usual 11 inches. The problem with this is that the images are too small and do not do any justice to the landscape. Look in any book as opposed to Amphoto an Audubon and see what I mean. Does this change things? If you use your personal library to inspire, and review some things that have become rusty due to lack of use and time, then the answer may be yes. Rating: 4 / 5
This book has great pictures of many national parks and is easy to read. Would be nice if future editions include the f-stop and shutter speed used in the title for each photo. Rating: 5 / 5
I still have not been disappointed by any of the books Fitharris Tim, and I have a lot of them. As usual, it is full of beautiful photographs, and sage advice. Tim also supply specific information of the Park and photography tips. It always amazes me the openness of Tim and willingness to share his vast experience. Y is an elegant but simple way to explain their methods. The mark of a true master! If there is any deficiency in this book is that we are firmly in the digital age esconced and Tim referrences many of the film. Not a problem for photographers well informed, but possibly a little confusing for beginners (who may have problems with the specifications of the digital image film). Of course, it would still bother me, but Tim should definitely take a book with a release date of 2009, up to date. Do not let this small technicality has no effect on their desire to own and read this great book by a great teacher. It is worth the price of the photographs alone! Rating: 5 / 5
I have an earlier version of this book and just bought an updated version. It was one of the most useful photography books that I own. The author is concise and spot the places he suggested in the parks. His photographs are also a source of inspiration. I would recommend this book to anyone traveling to national parks with an interest in photography. Rating: 5 / 5
