I bought this book to read to my three children, aged 8, 10 and 12 during a long trip to the Grand Canyon. It was obvious from the outset that “Over the Edge” would be too sophisticated for her age.’s Guest in history, “a tall, thin, hollow chest” fall from 15-year-old society and the computer output says geek things as “intellectual pygmies … The whole town is full of freaking idiots … The only way to fit in Cow Town was turn into another stupid lemming.” The mother of the story is described as follows: “His mother was standing, dressed in faded jeans and a hooded jacket. Although wrinkles lined the corners of his eyes when he smiled, Olivia looked young and trim. And full of energy. “I have no doubt that this book would enjoyed by many adolescents. But the characters and plot (someone tries to kill Olivia pushing it over the edge of a cliff) in this book are beyond 8-12. On the other hand, the same young people who demand better writing. “It was exactly what he liked Morgan but could not help but be attracted to her … What was it?
