just watch your Republican brothers defund it & take it away from you.
Oh, i should ADD- i tried to watch online, but i have a new Mini-MAC and i could not get it to play.
It kept asking me for a password, etc., and my system is all screwed up. I converted from PC but my files are locked up in my PC hard drive still.
Bummer. Computers… This is WHY i am trying anything just to complete my entire viewing of the National Parks. Thanks.
Hi. I have watched the series on PBS but i cannot afford to buy the DVDs. Every time i realized it was on – i would watch, BUT, still i MISSED like the first 15 minutes maybe of the FIRST SHOW. HOW DID HE START THE SERIES? Anyone remember? Or, could you POST THE OPENING OF SEGMENT ONE if you have it? please? I would really appreciate it. Thanks and if not, then thanks anyway!
. I liked it. I am so curious as to how he started it. Love the music too.
That is “Nay Said the Voyage” by Bloody Shart and the Seven Sassy Six.
thisis totally fake!!!!!!!!
Ken Burns is still wearing the same exact haircut that the Beatles wore in 1964.
As for the parks system, it’s great. The State Parks of New York are also beautiful but, in counterpoint to what we heard on this video clip, many of them were in fact properties donated by millionaires of the gilded age of the robber barons. Faced with new levels of property taxes, they dumped their vast estates for the tax write-offs a long time ago. Causett Park is the former estate of Marshall Field II.
As detailed and magnificent as the subject deserves, this is a wonder to behold. We know the parks (or can), but to honor the people–many of whom became invisible–who brought about this system is the real accomplishment of Mr. Burns and his crew. The cinematography is breathtaking, the archival photos invaluable. Thank you.
Good documentary, but way too much pontificating and not enough actual footage of what’s in the parks.
partially agree with the first comment. You do need money to keep these places open and both donations and initiative of preserving land sometime do come from wealthy people. In any case, what a beautiful documentary!
does anyone know what acoustic guitar song plays during this preview? i love it
I didn’t like the inflection on the word “cry” at the end at all. It irritated me. The way that that lady pronounced the word “cry” ruined the video for me.
Uh huh. Put the gas rag down, huffer.
Most the National Parks supervisors are also Sierra Club members.
The first thing they do when they get into the position is close campsites.
Sequoia, Yellowstone, Yosemite have seen drastic removal of campsites.
Further closures planned too.
Sierra Club job killing Successes:
It’s against the law to paint an airplane in Calif, lay a boat hull,, put different size tires on your car. bBought to you by the Sierra Club.
They will eventually come after something vital to you
Sierra Club isn’t trying to keep people out of parks, they’re trying to keep cars and snomobiles out of parks.
I have the same concerns. Ken Burns+the national parks, two of my favorite things together should seem like an awesome propsect. but imo the Planet Earth series has set the bar extremely high for capturing breathtaking images of our natural wonderlands. i hope ken burns does these amazing parks great justice.
Democracy my ass.
The Sierra Club does everything it can to keep people from enjoying our parks.
Those broken hearted hippies that believe in Climate change also believe Wrestling is real and we faked the moon landing.
Looks like it’ll be great. Sadly though a lot of the parks aren’t what they used to be due to climate change etc, still awesome though! I’ve done a lot of traveling within America but not in the national parks! Makes me want to pack up and get an RV
lovely!!! i have seen some of those in wyoming! just awesome… yes we should do in our own little way to preserve the national parks, the joy of the future generation… america is not about store, or sidewalks…..it’s about natural beauty… a place to rest and just immerse urself in the beauty of Gods creation.
^Definitely, another great documentary, and what a beautiful and majestic subject matter. America in all its bare beauty. Can’t wait to see it in the fall!
No one else captures America quite like Ken Burns! This looks like another hit already
Love the National Parks – although I’m a little concerned about it in Ken Burns hands. He’s a great historian, but kind of a boring filmmaker. Hopefully he captures the majesty and beauty of the national parks and lets the images speak for themselves.
Awesome promo! Makes me wanna get back out there. Can’t wait for it to air.
MegaN did an awesome job on this promo. The last line is perfect.
I look forward to viewing thids on PBS.
-gkamano in Tehachapi, CA.
