This book is great if you go to the Grand Canyon to see the popular tourist areas. A brief summary of the various activities available in the park, youth hostels, campsites and restaurants. It is not real useful if you want to plan trips with a backpack, but no longer discusses popular hiking day / overnight trips short. . With the limited time we have to go through the park is good for our needs. Rating: 4 / 5
Bought this before our trip to Grand Canyon last week. It was a little information on local attractions and restaurants, but there was nothing I could not have found out by just searching Google. Do not even have our hotel (Holiday Inn Express), although the book has been updated recently alleged. I found better information on the Grand Canyon of the current National Park website. Save your money, only your travel research online ahead of time. Rating: 2 / 5
This study does a good job of detailing the pros and cons of different types of accommodation and restaurants inside the park, which details the different ways to tour the park (by plane, helicopter, hiking group tours, rafting, donkeys, etc), and suggested hikes for those who are in great shape and those who are less so. It is equally well with all parts of the Grand Canyon from the North to the South Coast, suggesting pleasant day trips from a variety of points within the park. Even given good suggestions on the best time to visit and how to get the most out of the shuttle buses at the park, the best places to park, and best driving routes to avoid congestion. First rate! This guide has everything: maps, hotels and categories for everything a traveler needs. Unfortunately, these guidelines do not have titles like “The Grand Canyon of $ 5 a day.” Rating: 5 / 5
